The best way to protect your voicemail from unauthorized access is to use a passcode. Sprint Voicemail has always offered a Skip Passcode feature, which allows you to access your voicemail account from your Sprint phone without entering a passcode.
Without a passcode, anyone who has your handset can access your messages. If someone gains access to your voicemail account without your permission, they could:
- Listen to your new and saved voicemails
- Place outbound calls through your wireless account
If you are concerned about unauthorized access to your voicemail account or you don't currently use a passcode, we strongly recommend you enable the passcode you established during set up. To enable the passcode feature on your account:
- Access your voicemail account from your Sprint phone. Press 1 on your dial pad to dial your VM.
- Once in the main menu, choose Change Personal Options or Password Security.
- Next, choose Settings or Enable/disable Password.
- You will hear Skip Passcode is currently turned on. To turn it off, follow the prompts.
- The passcode you originally created will be played to you. Be sure to remember it as you will need to enter it to gain access to your voicemail in the future.
Note: To keep your account secure, remember to change your passcode often

Secure your device with a PIN code, password, fingerprint or other method offered by your device manufacturer.

Now that Sprint is part of T-Mobile, we’re giving Legacy Sprint customers an improved network Voicemail experience. When customers dial into their network Voicemail box there will be additional features to choose from, including changing the voicemail language to Spanish!
This only impacts Voicemails stored on the network server, it does not impact the Visual Voicemail application on the handset.
Legacy Sprint customers at some point will have their network Voicemail migrated to a T-Mobile server. This will be seamless and customers will be able to take advantage of the new features as soon as their network Voicemail box is migrated.

Customers receive this text if they do not have the Visual Voicemail application on their handset, therefore, they have to call their network Voicemail box to manage Voicemails. Only those customers will receive the text. The text is sent approximately 30 days prior to their network Voicemail box being upgraded.
Every effort will be made to migrate existing Voicemail messages over to the new network Voicemail box. However, customers should always ensure that any messages they want to keep are backed up. Those messages can be saved using a recording device. If you don’t have any existing Voicemails, or any you want to permanently keep & backup, there is no action needed on your part.
